Ruben Loftus-Cheek suffered a bitter blow on Tuesday night as he was forced to limp off during England's friendly with Brazil at Wembley Stadium.
The 21-year-old sustained a back injury with just 36 minutes on the clock after clashing with Neymar and had to be replaced by Jesse Lingard.
Loftus-Cheek won several plaudits for his performance in England's goalless stalemate with Germany last Friday.

And the Crystal Palace midfielder would have been eager to impress after his display earned him a start in Gareth Southgate's youthful line-up against Brazil.
But he could be set to face some time out on the sidelines after sustaining the knock in the first-half at Wembley.

The news will come as an equally bitter blow for Palace boss Roy Hodgson, with his side preparing for a crunch Premier League clash against Everton this weekend.
The Chelsea loanee has been a regular in Palace's side this season and Hodgson will be hopeful the injury is not too serious as he aims to push them out of the relegation zone.
The words of the England boss Gareth Southgate would have provided him with some reassurance as he played down the severity of Loftus-Cheek's injury.
After the game Southgate said: 'It is a back problem but it should settle down very quickly.'
