West Brom defender Craig Dawson is confident he can return to Premier League action for before Christmas.
The 27-year-old suffered a 'serious thigh muscle bleed and torn knee capsule' during the Baggies' 1-0 defeat by Southampton last month and club officials said at the time that Dawson would be out for at least eight weeks but the centre back is plotting a quick return.
'The doctor has told me eight weeks but I am hoping I can maybe shave some time off that, although I realise the dangers of rushing a recovery,' Dawson told West Brom's website.

'But the Christmas programme is really busy as everyone knows, and it would be great to be back in contention at that point.'
The Baggies have seven matches scheduled for December alone shortly before travelling to West Ham on New Year's Day - two days after facing Arsenal at The Hawthorns.
Tony Pulis' side's narrow 3-2 defeat at the hands of top-flight leaders Manchester City last weekend saw them drop to 15th and face a trip to 13th-placed Huddersfield on Saturday.
