Eddie Nketiah became the 115th player to score for Arsenal under Arsene Wenger and the only one born after he took charge: So who are the other 114?

  • Arsene Wenger has witnessed 115 different players score for Arsenal under him
  • Eddie Nketiah was the 115th scorer, while Ian Wright led the way back in 1996
  • Thierry Henry, the 25th Wenger scorer, is his leading marksman with 228 goals
  • Daniel Karbassiyoon, Thomas Eisfeld and Paolo Vernazza managed just one each

From Ian Wright to Eddie Nketiah, with 113 names in between, Arsene Wenger has seen plenty of goalscorers in his 21-year dynasty in charge of Arsenal.

On Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup, Nketiah, 18, became the first Gunners goalscorer born after Wenger took over in north London in September 1996.

He follows Sead Kolasinac, Alexandre Lacazette and Rob Holding as new additions to the long list this season.

Wright kicked things off with the first goal of the Wenger era, away at Blackburn Rovers in 21 years ago, but there are 15 men with more strikes than him under the Frenchman.

Thierry Henry, unsurprisingly, leads the way on 228 goals, while Theo Walcott is Wenger's best long-term marksman still active at Arsenal with 107 goals. Only Henry and Robin van Persie, on 132, have scored more than Walcott under the Frenchman.

But Wenger's long list of scorers also brings up plenty of lesser known names.

Daniel Karbassiyoon is one: his first and only goal for the Gunners coming as League Cup third-round winner against Manchester City in October 2004 - he was the 47th goalscorer of the Wenger era.

Paolo Vernazza's strike in a 2-1 win over Coventry City in September 2000 also makes him a member of the 21-man one-goal club and puts him 31st on the Wenger list.

The most notable landmark goals were scored by Henry, at 25, Mathieu Flamini at 50 and Danny Welbeck at 100.

Francis Coquelin, Chuba Akpom, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and goalkeepers Petr Cech and David Ospina are the only current Arsenal first-team players yet to score under their long-serving boss.
