The plaque featured the message: 'Congratulations for surpassing One Million subscribers'.
City have doubled their number of followers on the social media platform in less than two years and have added almost 250,000 in the past 12 months.
The club's most memorable YouTube video saw the squad take on the Harlem Shake in 2013. That video alone racked up over 9.2million views.
Another famous video was a 2016 sketch in which young superfan Braydon Bent interviewed manager Pep Guardiola in the back of a taxi.
Michael Russell, City's head of social media, said: 'When we launched City's YouTube channel in 2011, we wanted to create a channel that produced original and innovative content.
'Through its unrivalled access to players over the years, CityTV has created outstanding content that has appealed not only to supporters of our Club, but also engaged fans from across the wider football community, both here in Manchester and around the world.'
City have more subscribers than Liverpool and Tottenham combined.
Rivals Manchester United are the only member of the Premier League's Big Six without an official YouTube channel.
