Tom Davies already has thousands of youngsters wanting to follow in his footsteps - and it appears at least one of them wants to look like him too.

The Everton midfielder got a surprise when a local football team visited Finch Farm to take part in the club's annual team photo day, with one of the players bearing a striking resemblance him.

Davies, who graduated through Everton's academy before making his first-team breakthrough last season, posed with his Mini-Me, Anthony, who has long, curly blond hair similar to the England Under 21 star.

Anthony, who is a season ticket holder in the Park End, and his team-mates from Stanfield Under 8s were invited to the club's training base by club partner Umbro after being nominated by Everton in the Community Kicks Development Coach, Lee McArdle.

And after being kitted out in the full commemorative kit which celebrates the 125th anniversary of Goodison Park, the youngsters were treated to a kickabout with none other than Wayne Rooney.

The former Manchester United and England captain man joined in with a relaxed passing drill before lining up behind the boys for an official photo with the rest of Ronald Koeman's first-team squad.

Mason Holgate also showed off his technique to awestruck youngsters, while coach Duncan Ferguson was caught on camera giving the players some words of wisdom.

The kids also got the chance to take on goalkeeper Joel Robles in a penalty shootout, with the Spanish stopper making those who failed to score complete five press-ups.

McArdle, who works with the team every week, said: 'They've all been buzzing about meeting the team and being in the team photo and just from looking at all their faces I can see they've loved every minute.

'We've got so many big characters in the group but it's safe to say we had a few starstruck moments, especially when Wayne Rooney just came and joined them for a kickabout.

'A big thank you to Umbro and the club for their new kit and for making the day possible for them.'

Everton are offering free shorts for every commemorative shirt purchased, with the full range available online at evertondirect.com or in store at Everton One and Everton Two.
