Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero in good spirits as he trains following broken ribs in Amsterdam car crash

Sergio Aguero has continued his speedy recovery from broken ribs by training with his Manchester City team mates for a second successive day.

Aguero suffered broken ribs after being involved in a car crash following a concert in Holland, however trained with the first team on Tuesday, just 12 days later.

The Argentina striker is now targeting a surprise return to action in Saturday's Premier League game at home to Stoke City.

Aguero looked pleased to be back in action as he donned a woolly hat for training, as protection against the cold October air in Manchester. 


His manager, Pep Guardiola, also wore head wear for the session, although in typical style he went for a more fashionable option, wearing a black flat cap.

Wednesday saw the majority of City's regular first team squad involved, as players return from around the globe following the international break.

These included England defenders Kyle Walker and John Stones, fresh from back-to-back victories over Slovenia and Lithuania which ensured qualification for the 2018 World Cup. 

Also involved was Ilkay Gundogan, the injury-plagued defensive midfielder looking fit as he got stuck into some tough tackles.

Gundogan has played 30 minutes of Premier League action so far this season following a serious knee ligament injury, and will be hoping for a first start of 2017-18 against Stoke.
