However, the Premier League game with Liverpool on October 22 looks more realistic.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will take a roll call of his players on Tuesday with most of his squad away on international duty.

They face Bournemouth this weekend prior to Madrid, Liverpool, West Ham and Manchester United this month.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have checked on Turkey striker Cenk Tosun as they weigh up reinforcements for January.

The 26-year-old figured for his country against Iceland last Friday. However, he failed to make an impression as Iceland ran out 3-0 winners.

Crystal Palace and Arsenal also sent scouts to the game. Palace tried to sign Tosun from Besiktas in August and are in desperate need of a goalscorer.

Tosun has scored three times so far this campaign and grabbed 27 for club and country last season.
