Fabian Delph is hoping to be available for Manchester City's next Premier League game after leaving the England camp earlier this week.
Delph is thought to have suffered a slight problem in his hamstring after a first international call-up for two years.
The 27-year-old is confident his issue is not serious and wants to be in contention for the match against Stoke City next Saturday.
Fabian Delph was called up to the England squad but has had to pull out through injury
Delph has impressed at left back over the last fortnight for Pep Guardiola after Benjamin Mendy was ruled out for months with a knee injury.
Guardiola can ill-afford another absence in that position, with Danilo - primarily a right back - his only other option.
Stoke were interested in signing Delph in August but Charlie Adam revealed he persuaded the former Aston Villa midfielder to stay at the Etihad Stadium.
The Manchester City man had not been called up for two years but his wait for a return goes on
'He was going to come to us and I actually met him when Man City played Everton. I spoke to him and asked what he was thinking,' Adam said. 'He said Guardiola was happy for him to stay.
'I said, "If you come to us you'll enjoy it but why would you leave Man City? The amount of games they play, the injuries they get, you're going to get an opportunity".
'He's still a young player. He's probably not fulfilled the potential he showed at Villa and before that.'
