Manchester City hit hardest by the international break with 15 players set to clock up over 106,000 air miles

  • Eighty players from Premier League's Big Six currently on international duty
  • They will represent 27 nations from across Europe, South America and Africa
  • Man City's 15 international players will clock up staggering number of air miles
  • United's Antonio Valencia set to clock up the most miles at 15,279 for his trips

Manchester City are bidding to claim a Premier League title triumph this season — but manager Pep Guardiola may not have been happy with the air miles his players will clock up this fortnight.

The Etihad outfit have seen 15 players leave Manchester for the international break, the joint-highest number of players of the top-flight's Big Six to do so.

And Guardiola will undoubtedly be concerned, given his stars will travel a whopping number of air miles before they return to face Stoke in the league on October 14.

Research from bettingexpert.com has found that City's 15 international players are set to cover a combined distance of 106,873 miles.

Fellow Premier League title challengers Liverpool have the same number of players away on duty, though they will travel over 35,000 miles less.

Spurs players will be covering the least amount of ground compared to their Big Six counterparts, at 38,186 miles between them.

Despite covering the third-least amount of mileage, Arsenal's jet-setters have the second-highest average distance to travel per-player, at 5494 miles.

Eighty players will take part in the World Cup qualifiers from Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and the two Manchester clubs — and they will represent 27 nations from across Europe, South America and Africa.

City's arch rivals United have the biggest individual jet-setter, with Antonio Valencia set to clock up the most miles at 15,279 for his trips from Manchester to Chile and Ecuador and then back to Old Trafford.

United also have the only player of the 80 on international duty heading to Asia in the shape Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who will be bidding to star for Armenia.

In total, the international break — which has seen England secure their place at the 2018 World Cup — will hit the Big Six for a staggering 399,731 miles, or 16 times around the world.
