Gary Neville 'would love' Manchester United to sign Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann: 'People like that would light up Old Trafford'

Gary Neville revealed he would love to see Antoine Griezmann at Manchester United, believing the Atletico Madrid winger would add more flair to the squad.

United have started the season in formidable fashion, netting 25 times in only nine outings so far, but the Old Trafford great thinks the squad needs further improving.

Jose Mourinho attempted to address the issue this summer, but his protracted interest in the Frenchman was halted when the player pledged his allegiance to Atletico because of their transfer ban.

But although the creative juices seem to be in full flow without the Frenchman, Neville believes another inventive attacking option would have the Theatre of Dreams rocking.

'We can get a lot better,' Neville told Stretty News TV. 'I'd like to see one more flair player in the team.

'I'd like to see a winger who can beat a man and get everyone on the edge of their seat.

'Having been in Spain for four months, I love Griezmann. I would love to see Griezmann at United. He's quick, he's inventive he can beat players he can score goals.

'You would love to see Cristiano (Ronaldo) and Neymar and (Gareth) Bale and people like that because you know they would light up Old Trafford.'

United have coped capably this season without the superstars who Neville would like to see at the club, sharing their 25 goals between eight different scorers.

And Mourinho will hope his side continue their rich vein of goalscoring form on Wednesday when they face CSKA Moscow in a Champions League clash in the Russian capital.
