Burnley have taken former Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard on trial following the injury to Tom Heaton.

The 33-year-old was released by Preston North End last season and has been training with Burnley this week in the hope of impressing manager Sean Dyche. 

England goalkeeper Heaton is set to be out for several months with a dislocated shoulder suffered in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Nick Pope stepped into the breach following the England international's injury and is set to keep the position ahead of their trip to Liverpool on Saturday. 


The 25-year-old made the move to Turf Moor in 2016, joining from Charlton Athletic where he had been sent out on separate loan spells. 

Burnley have taken seven points from their first four Premier League matches this season.
