Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has launched a scathing attack on Liverpool new boy Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, saying he does not know what the midfielder is actually good at.

The midfielder swapped The Emirates for Anfield on deadline day in a £35million move and has spoken openly about his hope of moving to a more central role under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp.

Oxlade-Chamberlain spoke highly of his new boss ahead of a possible debut against Manchester City on Saturday, revealing that the German's attacking philosophy and character were part of the reason behind his decision to move.

However, in the studio Henry was less convinced about his motivations behind his decision to quit Arsenal.

'He spoke on the Liverpool website about that he could see Klopp making him a better player and that there's a love and togetherness. Are you telling us you didn't have that at Arsenal?' Henry said during Sky Sports build up.

'Or are you looking forward to something else? He's saying that after an hour of training at Liverpool.

'You have to bring something on the table. I have been watching him for a very long time and I still don't know what he's good at.

'You can find out on all players what they are not good at, but normally you also find out what they are good at.

'He needs to bring something to the table and give something to work with.'

Oxlade-Chamberlain was named on the bench at the Etihad for the Saturday lunchtime kick off, replacing Mohamed Salah at half-time.
