Arsenal striker Lucas Perez on the verge of Deportivo La Coruna return after the two clubs agree £4m loan fee

Arsenal cast-off Lucas Perez is on the brink of signing a season-long loan deal with Deportivo La Coruna.

The two clubs are understood to have agreed in the past hour a £4m loan fee for the campaign.

Perez has turned down approaches from Newcastle and Sevilla on Thursday as he seeks to force a return to Deportivo over the line.

The La Liga outfit have both Thursday and Friday to complete the loan move for their former striker as the Spanish window closes a day later.

Arsenal initially wanted a transfer of £12m but Deportivo do not have the financial means and Perez has insisted he will only go to the Spanish club he left behind last summer in a £17.1m deal.

The Spaniard started only four matches after Christmas last season and did not start a game after the FA Cup win at Sutton in February.

There has been interest from Valencia and Marseille but Perez is steadfast in his determination to return to Deportivo.
