West Ham open talks with Barcelona over loan deal for Andre Gomes but Everton reject Slaven Bilic's late move for Kevin Mirallas

West Ham have been in discussions to take Andre Gomes from Barcelona on loan.

The structure of the deal would be that West Ham would be able to take him for free if they can guarantee he will play 70 per cent of their games.

One player, however, who will not be heading to the London Stadium is Everton striker Kevin Mirallas.

West Ham made an enquiry for the Belgium international but it was immediately rebuffed.

West Ham are also trying to resurrect their deal for Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho.

Gomes, 24, has been struggling for game time at the Nou Camp. Spurs have also looked at the player but the wages could be too high.

Gomes has spent only 12 months at Barca after joining from Valencia last summer.

The midfielder was a key part of the Portugal side that beat France to the European Championship title in 2016.

Gomes has made just one appearance so far this campaign after playing 47 times last season.
