Alan Shearer has revealed the full extent of his injuries following a biking accident in Portugal on Monday.

The Premier League all-time top goalscorer fell off his bike while holidaying in Quinta do Lago, Portugal, and initially posted a picture of a gruesome cut on his hand on Instagram.

'Ouch! Bit of a fall off the bike this morning! Waiting for results of X-rays,' he wrote on Instagram.

But it appears the former Newcastle talisman was not relaying a true representation of the seriousness of the incident.

Shearer has now received his X-ray results and confirmed on twitter he suffered 'a little fracture'.

The 47-year-old was always tough and resilient back in his playing days and it seems nothing has changed.

Despite him downplaying his injuries they were severe enough to warrant a cast as a picture showed on Twitter.

It comes just a day after Shearer welcomed Wayne Rooney into the Premier League 200 goals club to which he previously was the only member.
