Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham has outlined huge career ambitions, admitting he one day dreams of being crowned the finest player in the game and picking up the prestigious Ballon d'Or.

Abraham is currently on loan at Swansea City, hoping to get a full season of Premier League football under his belt and make his mark in the top flight.

The highly rated 19-year-old is well regarded at Chelsea, who have tied him down to a new deal before sending him off to South Wales.

And, speaking before his new side's crunch showdown with Manchester United, Abraham revealed the sky is the limit for him, with grand ambitions on his mind.


'I say this now but I would love to win the Ballon d'Or one day,' Abraham told Sky Sports.

'That would be something special and would be the perfect career for me,' he added.

The youngster also opened up on his choice to move to the Swans, particularly as other top flight suitors were knocking at his door.

When it came to making a judgement call, Abraham reveals his main dilemma was picking between Swansea and Newcastle.

'It was mainly those two (teams) but the gaffer (Paul Clement) came to my house, got to know my family and I made my decision there and then, he had nice ambitions for me,' said Abraham.

The striker also admitted he had heard lots of Clement from staff back at his parent club Chelsea, where the manager learned his trade under Jose Mourinho.

'I spoke to the staff at Chelsea and they suggested Paul, he's a tactical guy and that's a place you want to be - he will improve you,' said Abraham.

The striker put in a solid performance in his league debut for the Swans in the opening day stalemate with Southampton, and came close to getting himself among the goals.

Abraham and Swansea return to action today (Saturday) with an lunchtime kick-off against the in form Manchester United.
