Tottenham are keen on signing Senegal midfielder Pape Cheikh Diop, 20, from Celta Vigo
Mauricio Pochettino is still waiting for his first signing of the summer but Tottenham are closing in on a number of targets with the deadline two weeks away.
They are in talks with Ajax about Colombia defender Davinson Sanchez who is rated at more than £30m and are lining up a £3m deal for back-up goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga of Southampton.
They are among the Premier League teams trailing Serge Aurier of Paris Saint-Germain.
Diop has a release clause in his contract worth £25m, but Spurs hope to pay less than that
Pape Chiekh has a £25m release clause in a contract which runs until 2021 although Lyon and Spurs are convinced he can be prised away from Celta Vigo for considerably less.
He was born in Senegal, moved to Spain at the age of 14 and has represented Spain at Under 17 and Under 19 levels.
