Leicester favourites to win race for £2million Sheffield Wednesday wonderkid George Hirst
- Leicester have already had a £1million bid rejected by Sheffield Wednesday
- The Foxes have doubled their efforts to secure Hirst with an improved bid
- The youngster made two appearances as a substitute for Wednesday last season
- Hirst featured heavily in England's under 18 Toulon Tournament winning side
- Interest in the 18-year-old has been shown by Manchester United and Everton
Leicester have tabled an improved £2million offer for Sheffield Wednesday wonderkid George Hirst.
Hirst, son of former Wednesday and England striker David, is viewed as one of the best emerging youngsters in the country.
Leicester have already seen a £1million offer for the youngster rejected by the Owls.

Hirst featured heavily in the England under-18 side that won the Toulon Tournament in June
But the Foxes have now doubled their original offer. The bid also includes a host of add-ons.
England’s top clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle and Everton have also shown an interest in the teenager but Leicester are leading the race.
Hirst has already made his senior debut for Wednesday - making two substitute appearances for the club last season.
He also added to his burgeoning reputation during the summer, excelling in England Under-18’s triumphant Toulon Tournament campaign earlier this summer - scoring four goals to make him joint top goalscorer.
