Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy takes time off training camp to film himself and team-mates dancing - and even playing the piano

  • Benjamin Mendy joined Manchester City from Monaco for £52million
  • The French international uploaded numerous videos to his Instagram account
  • The videos featured team-mates Ederson, Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane dancing
  • Mendy was deemed unfit to play in City's opening Premier League game
  • The team were travelling to Girona for a warm-weather training camp

Manchester City new boy Benjamin Mendy has been getting himself acquainted with his new team-mates by filming a selection of their best moves as the club take up a warm-weather training camp in Girona.

The videos, which have made up the majority of his Instagram story, feature Leroy Sane, Mendy himself, as well as new goalkeeper Ederson.

As Daily Mail Sport reported, Mendy became manager Pep Guardiola's third defensive summer signing in July, worth £52million, joining former Monaco team-mate Bernado Silva, who joined earlier in the summer for £43million.

But it seems it's more than just football that tickles the fancy of £52million Mendy, who shows he is not shy to a beat.

In the short videos, taken as City travel to Girona for a warm-weather training camp ahead of Monday's clash with Everton, Mendy urges his team-mates to show-off some of their best moves for his Instagram audience. But it wasn't dancing in the most traditional sense.

The majority of the videos consisted of the likes of Sane and Brazilian Gabriel Jesus shooting their fingers in the air, with the odd interjection of a 'dab' famously introduced to the football pitch by Manchester united rival Paul Pogba.

In the defence of Sane and co, however, they were provided with little beat or music to dance to by Mendy.

However, the one touch of grace did come from Jesus, who took to the piano and played a short tune for his team-mates – and without a dab in sight.

After apparently taking some time to enjoy themselves en-route to Girona, Mendy and his team-mates will soon be refocusing on the matter at hand, as Guardiola's team host Everton in Monday's early-season clash at the Etihad Stadium.

The two-time Premier League champions got off to a quick start seeing off Premier League debutants Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on the south coast on Saturday, with a comfortable 2-0 victory over the Seagulls.
