Mousa Dembele insists Tottenham 'aren't scared' of Wembley despite their poor recent record at the ground
- Mousa Dembele says Tottenham will 'adapt very quickly' to playing at Wembley
- Tottenham will play home matches at Wembley during the 2017-18 campaign
- The club have won just two of their last 10 competitive matches at Wembley
- They move into their newly-built 61,000-seater stadium for the 2018-19 season
Mousa Dembele has dismissed suggestions that Tottenham could struggle at Wembley this season and insists that no one in the squad is 'scared' of playing there.
Wembley will be Tottenham's temporary home this year while work is completed on their new 61,000-seater stadium, which will be ready in time for the 2018-19 campaign.
Tottenham have a poor recent record at the home of English football with just two wins from their last 10 competitive fixtures there.
Mousa Dembele believes Tottenham will adapt 'very quickly' to life in their temporary ground
But Dembele believes his side have performed well in those defeats and points to Tottenham's 2-0 pre-season victory over Juventus last week as evidence that they will adapt quickly to life in their new home.
'Obviously we had some games that were not the best but I think there were games where we played really good,' Dembele told talkSPORT.
'Even against Chelsea [in the FA Cup semi-final] and the year before as well [in the League Cup final].
Tottenham were beaten 4-2 in the FA Cup semi-final by Chelsea at Wembley in April
'In the last game against Juventus we had a good game so I don't think it's something in our heads, and with the way we play I think we will adapt very quickly.'
Tottenham outclassed Juventus on Saturday, easing to a 2-0 victory over the Serie A champions at Wembley in a match they dominated throughout.
And Dembele believes that any Wembley hoodoo Tottenham have is a myth and insists his side are confident they will succeed at the 90,000 capacity ground.
Harry Kane and Tottenham travel to Newcastle for their first match of the season on Sunday
'In our team, no one is scared of that. It's what people try to say,' added Dembele 'The statistics say we don't play very well, and of course statistics are a big thing, but we don't believe in that.
'We know we're going to do well at Wembley. We're not concerned about this.'
Tottenham begin the Premier League season with a trip to face Newcastle at St James' Park on Sunday, their first match at Wembley is against Chelsea on August 20.
