Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho gives away his Super Cup medal to a young fan following 2-1 Super Cup defeat by Real Madrid

Jose Mourinho may have been unable to guide his side to Super Cup victory against Real Madrid. But the Manchester United manager still found time to make one young fan's day by handing him his medal.
After his side went up to collect their runners up medals, the United boss handed his to a kid in the stands in Macedonia, a kind gesture he has made a habit of in recent years.

The United boss claimed after the gesture: 'For the kid it is something he will never forget'
The ex-Chelsea boss threw his winners' medal into the crowd following their Premier League triumph in 2006 and also gave away his medal following the 2015 Community shield.
Mourinho claims the silverware will mean more to the supporter than him, because medals 'don't mean much' to him - even when his side win.
'Look sometimes when I win I don't keep the medals, so imagine when I lose,' he said.
'And for me the medal will go to some place in my house and for that kid it's for sure something to keep and remember.

Mourinho has made the gesture in the past, including after he led Chelsea to the title in 2006

'It was a little kid in a Manchester United shirt, I have no idea where he comes from, so I think for the kid it is something he will never forget and for me, I repeat when I win they don't mean much, imagine when I lose.'
Mourinho handed a start in Skopje to all three of his summer signings but they were unable to prevent his side to slipping to defeat in the European curtain-raiser.
Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and Lukaku (who cost a combined £145.7million) were given their first taste of competitive action for United ahead of the new Premier League season.
