Joey Barton has been announced as the new co-host of talkSPORT's flagship radio show 'Matchday Live' from the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
The 34-year-old joins talkSPORT as he serves his 13-month suspension, reduced from 18 months on appeal, handed to him by the FA in April for gambling on football matches.

He will join Adrian Durham and Ray Parlour in commentating for the matchday show, beginning with the Premier League clash between Watford and Liverpool on August 12.
Barton will also be part of the 'Kick-Off' show which broadcasts on Monday nights and analyses the past weekend's Premier League action.
'I’m really looking forward to the new football season,' Barton told talkSPORT's website.
'Having listened to talkSPORT for many years, and given that I can’t be on the pitch, being part of the biggest sports radio station every week is certainly the next best thing. Tune in for honest, no-nonsense punditry on Monday nights and Saturday afternoons.'
Barton last featured for Burnley in the Premier League before his suspension in April
The midfielder previously worked with talkSPORT for their coverage of the Euro 2016 finals in France.
Barton was also handed a £30,000 fine with the 18-month suspension - which was reduced to 13 months last month following an appeal against the severity of the ban.
It was revealed in a 63-page document released by the FA that Barton had lost almost £17,000 on bets worth more than £200,000 - those included 42 bets in 20 matches with teams he was registered to play for at the time of betting.
He joins Peter Crouch in hosting his own radio show, with the Stoke striker having been announced as the host of rock show Radio X for two weeks.
