Mane told the club website: 'Everybody has seen how he's quicker than everyone on the pitch. He's a nice lad and a great player.'
The Senegalese forward was in a similar position last summer after joining from Southampton for £36m, and impressed in his debut year at Anfield.
Mane scored 13 times in 27 Premier League games, but saw his campaign curtailed by a knee injury in April.
He played 45 minutes of a friendly win over Hertha Berlin, his first action since the injury on April 1, and said he was feeling positive about the coming campaign.
Mane said: 'I'm very happy to be back. It was not easy to be off the pitch for three months. Finally, I'm back and I'm happy to be back. I'm looking forward to the season.'
