PSG only want Barcelona's Neymar after being denied move for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, says Arsene Wenger

  • Paris Saint-Germain are willing to make a staggering move for Brazilian Neymar
  • But the French giants are also interested in Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez
  • Arsene Wenger insists that Sanchez will not be leaving the Emirates this summer

Paris Saint-Germain only want Neymar after missing out on Alexis Sanchez, Arsene Wenger has claimed.

The Arsenal manager has seen his star forward Sanchez coveted by the French giants this summer amid an ongoing contract dispute with the north London club.

There were even suggestions this week that the Chilean had spent time in Paris to negotiate a deal, with his Arsenal contract set to expire this summer, although Wenger has denied those claims.

PSG will not be stopped in their chase for a world class forward and, according to Wenger, have instead changed tact and targeted Barcelona's Brazilian Neymar.

Asked about Sanchez's supposed visit to the French capital, Wenger said: 'No, I don't think he was in Paris. No.

'Paris Saint-Germain cannot get Sanchez so they go for Neymar.

'I read (French newspaper) L'Equipe in the last three or four days. It has moved from Sanchez to Neymar.

'Today they speak about Neymar, three days ago they speak about Alexis. They need as well, like you [reporters], subjects.

'My mind has been made up for a while now. I think I've made it clear a few times that he is not for sale and this is my stance.'

Gerard Pique took to social media on Sunday night to suggest the 25-year-old would be remaining at the Nou Camp in an Instagram snap.

But there would be financial benefits to a move to the Parc des Princes. A deal would cost PSG around £450m altogether, with £36m going to Neymar's father
