Manchester United target Ivan Perisic named in Inter's squad for their pre-season tour to China and Singapore

Manchester United target Ivan Perisic has been named in the 28-man traveling squad for Inter Milan's summer pre-season tour of the Far East.

United had been pushing to finalise a £44million deal with Inter for Perisic so that he did not have to fly out to China with the Serie A side on Tuesday.

But no deal appears to have been agreed for now as Inter confirmed that Perisic has been named in Luciano Spalletti's squad for their summer tour.

The winger left Inter's training camp over the weekend for dental treatment back home in Croatia but was due to report back to their Appiano Gentile training base for the flight on Tuesday evening. 

Perisic had implied he was hoping his move to Old Trafford was completed before the flight by taking to social media to post a symbol of a plane accompanied by a prayer emoji.

Speaking after United's 2-1 pre-season victory over Real Salt Lake on Tuesday, Jose Mourinho admitted he had 'no idea' about the latest with United's pursuit. 

United had previously seen two bids, of £36m and £39m, rejected by Inter who were holding out for a figure in the region of £48m.

Inter had also asked to take France international Anthony Martial on loan from Old Trafford as part of any potential deal for Perisic. 

So far this summer United have signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica for £30.7m and Romelu Lukaku from Everton for £75m.

Inter are set to fly from Malpensa Airport in Milan to Nanjing in China ahead of their first pre-season fixture against Schalke on July 21.

The Nerazzurri then face Lyon in Nanjing on July 24 before flying to Singapore to take on Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
