Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has arrived in Turin for his medical with Serie A giants Juventus ahead of putting the final touches to his summer transfer.

The 27-year-old has spent the past few seasons sharpening his teeth in Italian football after taking on an extended loan deal with Roma.

And, convinced by what they have seen, Juventus have made moves to bring the Arsenal stopper on board to compete with club legend Gianluigi Buffon for a place between the sticks.

Taking to the club social media channels Juventus posted an image of a smiling Szczesny posing happily offering a thumbs up.

Captioning the image ahead of the player undertaking his medical, the club wrote: 'Look who's just landed!'

The Old Lady soon followed up the snap with a short video of Szczesny sending a welcome message to Juve fans, cheering the team on for the coming season.

Arsenal are set to receive a fee in the region of £10million for the goalkeeper, who failed to nail down the No 1 shirt at the Emirates.

Sportsmail revealed the Italian champions' interest in Szczesny earlier this summer and the Poland international was keen for the deal to be signed off after he was left off Arsenal's pre-season trip to Australia.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri sees Szczesny as the successor to Buffon, who is expected to retire next year.
