Arsenal continued their pre-season preparations with a hard-fought 3-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers.
Olivier Giroud started up front for the Gunners and made the most of his opportunity with a well-taken goal midway through the first half, shortly before Aaron Ramsey doubled the lead with sublime lob over Vedran Janjetovic.
Mohamed Elneny added a third from long range before Steven Lustica pulled one back for the hosts when Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was penalised for a back-pass.

MIKE KEEGAN: He may be on his way out but Olivier Giroud gave Arsenal fans a glimpse of what they could be about to miss as the Gunners rounded off the Australian leg of their tour with a straightforward victory.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund following the £52m arrival of compatriot Alexandre Lacazette. Speaking at a kit launch on an island in Sydney Harbour this week an honest Giroud admitted he may well be about to ship out of the club he has been at since 2012.
Here, he finished a Nacho Monreal pull back from close range in a relatively low key match, save for an 11–minute first-half spell in which Arsenal struck three times.
And that's that! Arsenal have played some brilliant stuff at times and could have had six or seven on another day after hitting the woodwork a number of times.
Western Sydney showed great spirit after a disappointing first-half performance and deservedly pulled one back after the break.
Full-match report from Sydney coming right up..
90+1 mins: Ozil plays a delightful ball through to Walcott, who is once again denied by the onrushing Janjetovic.
90 mins: There will be two minutes of added time..
90 mins: Arsenal have hit the woodwork yet again!
This time it's Nketiah, who strikes the post with a curling finish from inside the area.
89 mins: Walcott has looked dangerous after coming off the bench and he almost gets a goal his cameo has deserved.
Nketiah finds the England man in space on the edge of the box but his side-foot finish is superbly saved by Janjetovic.
87 mins: Tokich comes on for Baccus as the Wanderers go in search of another.
86 mins: Arsenal win another free-kick in almost exactly the same location as the last, after Nketiah is brought down by a wild challenge.
Ozil tries his luck again but his second effort is fired straight into the wall. The ball is played back into the box but Mertesacker can only direct his header into the goalkeeper's arms.
Full time can't come quickly enough for Western Sydney.
83 mins: Cornthwaite pulls down Arsenal youngster Willock on the edge of the box and the Gunners have the perfect opportunity for a fourth goal.
Ozil lines up the set-piece and strikes with post with a superb dipping effort from 18 yards out.
That's the third or fourth time the woodwork has been struck this evening.
The game has faded substantially. A paper airplane, launched from the top tier, has just landed on the pitch to the biggest cheer of the night.
81 mins: Second-half substitute Walcott attempts to curl the ball into the far post after receiving possession on the edge of the box but his effort is well claimed by Janjetovic, who looks to quickly set up a counter-attack for the hosts.
78 mins: Arsenal are continuing to dominate possession as we head into the closing stages of the match.
The Gunners are popping the ball about nicely on both wings - sapping the energy of the Sydney defenders, who have given absolutely everything.
Nketiah takes the ball on his chest and does well to win another Arsenal corner on the left, which Janjetovic claims at the second attempt.
72 mins: Welbeck easily beats his man on the left with a nice step-over but his cross is slightly overhit and the ball is shepherded out for a throw on the opposing side of the pitch.
70 mins: Welbeck is now leading the line for the Gunners and the England international almost gets his first sight at goal after coming on for Giroud.
Gunners youngster Nketiah almost finds the former Manchester United man inside the box but Herd gets back to clear the danger. Better from the Premier League side.
68 mins: The challenge for Arsenal now is rediscovering their rhythm after the Western Sydney goal and those wholesale substitutions.
The Australian side have arguably been the better side in the second-half, can they find another and set up a tense finish for the Gunners?
66 mins: Arsenal make their wholesale changes, as expected, with all ten outfield players leaving the field.
66 mins: Riera gets in behind the Arsenal defence but is forced to check back under pressure from Elneny.
He eventually gets a good shot away but it is well saved by Martinez.
64 mins: Arsenal have responded well to that goal and almost restore their three-goal lead.
Iwobi flashes a ball across the six-yard box but Oxlade-Chamberlain can't get in front of his marker and it is well cleared by a Wanderers defender.
Giroud has been playing as the one up front, with Lacazette in a role on the left. There has been a lack of a connection between the two Frenchmen so far.
Western Sydney are the first team to make changes, with Herd, Riera and Thwaite coming on for Melling, Majok and Hamill.
Western Sydney take full advantage of the back-pass error from Martinez!
Lustica fires his first effort straight into Monreal on the Arsenal goal-line but the ball falls fortuitously back to the Sydney man, who makes no mistake with his second effort - rifling it straight into the roof of the net. Game on!
54 mins: Western Sydney enjoy a rare spell of possession inside Arsenal's half and almost take full advantage through Risdon, who strikes the bar from long-range after meeting a loose ball.
Substitute goalkeeper Martinez is then forced to pick up a back-pass just outside his six-yard box under pressure from Majok...
52 mins: Sydney are in real trouble at the moment.
First, they concede a cheap corner after Risdon fails to get a call from his goalkeeper.
They then fail to close down Elneny, who is able to clip a dangerous ball to the back post.
Giroud fights for the ball at the back post and almost gets two bites of the cherry with Janjetovic struggling.
However, the ball is eventually cleared for a throw-in at the third attempt. What a big let off for the A-League side.
50 mins: Elneny almost gets himself another in spectacular fashion!
The Egypt international lines up a shot from long-range and curls a superb effort over the despairing dive of Janjetovic and onto the underside of the bar.
Giroud then tries to turn to rebound into the goal but his header sails harmlessly over the bar.
What an effort from stand-in centre-back Elneny!
48 mins: Oxlade-Chamberlain displays his impressive pace with a marauding run down the left.
He beats one, two, three defenders and shows great composure to stop the ball just as it was about to roll behind for a goal-kick.
The England international heads into the penalty area and is bundled over but the referee is having none of it. No penalty.
46 mins: Lacazette is brought down from behind and Arsenal win an early free-kick on the left wing.
Oxlade-Chamberlain delivers a dangerous ball into the box but it's just out of Lacazette's reach.
45 mins: The two teams are back out on the pitch after the half-time interval. We expect wholesale changes for the Gunners around the hour mark.
Giroud, who was so impressive in that first half, gets us back underway.
There’s no ‘Wenger Out’ banners here but plenty of vociferous support for the Gunners. I’m told 28,000 of those here tonight are from out of state.
We’re looking at a crowd of around 84,000 and a potential record for this stadium in its reconfigured state, beating none other than Chelsea’s 83,598 when they played Sydney FC here in 2015.
After two minutes of added time, the referee brings the first half to a close.
This is hard on Western Sydney.
After the original corner is cleared, Arsenal recycle it well on the edge of the box to Elneny, who strikes the ball from range.
It takes a deflection off an onrushing defender and wrong-foots Janjetovic, who can do nothing to prevent the ball flying into his bottom right corner.
42 mins: Giroud creates half a yard of space inside the box and is able to get a shot away but it can't beat Janjetovic, who claims it at the second attempt.
The Frenchman then gets down the left and wins a corner for his side.
It was only a matter of time and Arsenal have doubled their lead in impressive fashion.
Western Sydney attempt to play a high line to squeeze the play in midfield, allowing Monreal to play a perfect ball over the top of the defence to the onrushing Ramsey.
The Wales international steadies himself before lobbing Janjetovic, who was stuck in no man's land after attempting to close the ball down.
37 mins: That goal has sucked the confidence out of Western Sydney are they're starting to drop deeper and deeper.
Arsenal eventually find a way past this stubborn Wanderers defence and it's that man Giroud.
Monreal combines well with Oxlade-Chamberlain and races into the box after making the overlapping run down the left.
He looks up, takes his time and plays the perfect near-post ball to Giroud, who makes no mistake with a first-time finish into the roof of the net.
29 mins: Melling is pulled back by Xhaka and wins a free-kick but the Sydney player then appears to throw an elbow at the Switzerland international.
Xhaka responds with a push and the two players eventually have to be separated by the referee.
It was all handbags in the end but Xhaka certainly has that unwanted side to his game.
25 mins: Iwobi is taken out by Clisby and Arsenal win yet another free-kick on the right.
Giroud rises highest to meet Xhaka's floated delivery but he can only direct the ball straight into the arms of the goalkeeper.
No matter, he had been flagged for offside anyway.
23 mins: Oxlade-Chamberlain is robbed of possession by tenacious midfielder Baccus but the former Southampton man does well to get back and win the ball at the second attempt.
Majok then shows good feet to get away from his man inside the Arsenal penalty area but he can't get his shot away and is eventually crowded out.
21 mins: Western Sydney make a hash of a simple clearance inside the six-yard box but Giroud can't take advantage after his first touch deserts him.
Arsenal are definitely showing some signs of rustiness up front which is certainly to be expected in pre-season.
17 mins: Xhaka delivers another Arsenal corner straight into the grateful arms of Janjetovic.
He punts the ball downfield but every single Wanderers player is in their own half and Arsenal quickly win back possession.
Oxlade-Chamberlain delivers another early cross into the box which Risdon fails to deal with but Lacazette's first touch is poor and the chance is gone.
15 mins: Arsenal get the ball in early from the left-hand side but Janjetovic does well to claim possession at the feet of a retreating defender.
The Gunners have started brightly but Western Sydney have certainly grown into the match as it's gone on.
13 mins: Iwobi almost finds himself through on goal but Hamill reads the danger and comes across to clear. Great defending.
11 mins: Oxlade-Chamberlain's first delivery is cleared but Arsenal recycle the ball well to the England international, who beats his man on the left.
He clips the ball up to the back post but Giroud can only direct his acrobatic volley into the ground and harmlessly behind for a goal kick.
The Frenchman will be desperate to prove he can play up top with Lacazette with his Arsenal future in doubt.
10 mins: Lacazette displays a heavy first touch and loses the ball in midfield. He does his best to win it back immediately but fouls Baccus in the process. Just a little too eager.
Arsenal eventually win back possession and are awarded a free-kick when Ramsey is brought down on the left side of the area.
The angle is probably too tight to shoot, Oxlade-Chamberlain gets ready to deliver..
8 mins: Iwobi plays a great ball across the face of goal but neither Giroud or Lacazette were on their toes and the chance passes them by.
The ball is put behind for a corner, which eventually comes to nothing.
6 mins: Arsenal are stroking it about nicely at the back with Elneny pulling the strings in an unfamiliar role.
The Western Sydney fans finally find their voice and it appears to give their team a boost as they enjoy their first spell of possession inside the opposing half.
3 mins: Koscielny gives the ball away cheaply in midfield but home side can't take advantage and return possession almost immediately.
Arsenal almost make them pay and it's that man Lacazette. He beats two defenders and races into the penalty area but his side-foot finish is well saved by Janjetovic.
The ball is then recycled to the back post but Ramsey can only direct his volley into a central defender.
2 mins: Oxlade-Chamberlain immediately gets on the front foot down the right-hand side but his near post cross can't beat the first man.
Great start from the Premier League side, full of intensity.
1 min: Cries of 'Arsenal, Arsenal' ring out from the crowd as Western Sydney front man Majok gets us underway.
Arsenal are in their traditional red and white, while the A-League side are kitted out in black, white and red.
The two teams are in the tunnel preparing to come out onto the pitch in front of nearly 80,000 fans at the ANZ Stadium.
It's close to capacity and there's a great atmosphere, as you always seem to get from Aussie fans on pre-season tours down under.
We're now just moments away from kick-off..

SAMI MOKBEL: Arsene Wenger is ready to disregard the Europa League next season to ensure Arsenal sustain a title challenge.
The Gunners will play in European football’s lesser competition for the first time since 1999/00 after failing to qualify for the Champions League last season.
And Sportsmail understands the Gunners boss does not view the Europa League as a priority and is planning to use the competition to give his fringe players and youngsters more game time.
MIKE KEEGAN: Arsene Wenger is certain Alexis Sanchez will remain at Arsenal — and revealed he has been texting the forward throughout the summer.
Sanchez has a year left on his contract and is wanted by Premier League rivals Manchester City.
But the Arsenal manager said he has been in regular contact with the Chilean who, he insists, will stay with the club.
Arsenal fans have started to arrive at the ANZ Stadium ahead of kick-off.
They will get the chance to see Alexandre Lacazette make his first start for the club, perhaps surprisingly in a supporting role behind Olivier Giroud.
Mohamed Elneny starts at the heart of the defence for the Gunners as Arsene Wenger fields an experimental line-up against the Western Sydney Warriors.
