Arsene Wenger is ready to disregard the Europa League next season to ensure Arsenal sustain a title challenge.

The Gunners will play in European football’s lesser competition for the first time since 1999/00 after failing to qualify for the Champions League last season.

And Sportsmail understands the Gunners boss does not view the Europa League as a priority and is planning to use the competition to give his fringe players and youngsters more game time.

Wenger knows he is under pressure to deliver a strong title challenge next season after signing a new contract, despite intense opposition from a section of supporters.

Wenger’s stance could change if they reach the latter stages of the competition.
