Chelsea are eyeing the recently departed Barcelona manager Luis Enrique as a potential replacement to Antonio Conte, reports The Telegraph.

Conte has been left frustrated with the lack of transfer activity at Stamford Bridge while club officials are not happy with the Italian's handling of Diego Costa.

While the situation looks likely to be sorted eventually, Chelsea are preparing for Conte's departure by drawing up a list of potential successors of which Enrique is one.

Leicester are considering a second bid for West Brom defender Jonny Evans after seeing their opening offer of £10m rejected by the club.

According to the Telegraph, the Foxes want a partner for their latest capture Harry Maguire and see Evans as the experienced Premier League defender they need.

However, West Brom have made it clear the Northern Irishman is not for sale at any price, meaning Leicester will need to pay significantly more to get their man.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has contacted Cristiano Ronaldo in a bid to convince him to remain in Spain this summer amid reports that he has decided to leave the country.

The 32-year-old is upset at accusations from the Spanish authorities that he held £13million of earnings from image rights in the British Virgin Islands and the Republic of Ireland in order to avoid paying tax.

Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit believes Alexis Sanchez needs to be surrounded by players as hungry and motivated as him at Arsenal. 

The Frenchman weighed in on Sanchez's future at the club and thinks the Chilean will wait to see who Arsene Wenger brings in before deciding his next move. 

Petit told the Mirror: 'Now, he (Sanchez) is a winner. His attitude and ­approach in every game is fantastic. I can see why Arsene wants to keep him.'

Dani Alves is set to be reunited with Pep Guardiola with Manchester City closing in on a deal for the Juventus right-back, according to the Guardian.

Guardiola has been searching for new full backs following the departure of Bacary Sagna, Pablo Zabaleta and Gael Clichy and was hoping to sign Kyle Walker.

The Portuguese is determined to leave the Bernabeu after being accused of stashing earnings in the British Virgin Islands in order to avoid paying tax.

However, he appears willing to change his mind if Real Madrid settle the bill and any fine that may come as a result of the accusations.

JOE BERNSTEIN: Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino could turn his attention to Manchester United's Chris Smalling after losing out to Leicester City for £17million defender Harry Maguire.

Maguire chose a move to the King Power Stadium because he felt he'd get more first-team matches for the same wages he would have earned at Spurs.

Pochettino wants a centre-half to complement Toby Aiderweireld and Jan Vertonghen as Spurs prepare to launch a Premier League title challenge at Wembley as well as coping with a Champions League campaign.

SIMON JONES: Tottenham Hotspur will not put a price on Eric Dier as they have no intention of selling the England international.

Manchester United are keen on Dier and believe the 23-year-old is open to joining them as he would be allowed to play in his favoured central midfield position and be offered substantially better wages.
