Manchester United target Alvaro Morata hopes to have his future sealed in the next fortnight.

Morata's agent held talks with Real Madrid officials on Friday and made it clear the striker wants more game time.

The 24-year-old, who scored for Spain during Wednesday's friendly draw with Colombia, has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth since a move back to the Bernabeu last summer.

There is a degree of confidence at Old Trafford that Morata's desperation for added responsibility could see him depart Real.

Morata is expected to cost north of £60million and seen as a more viable option than Torini's Andrea Betolli at this stage.

There is also unlikely to be more resistance from Real should the financial package be desirable, with any deal not impacting on David De Gea's future.

Any striker heading for United this summer will need to fill the shoes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was officially released by the club on Friday.

His departure had been an open secret at Carrington, with United unwilling to commit to around £10m in wages until he regains match fitness following an ACL injury.

The offer of using their training facilities is still open to Ibrahimovic, who has been there with personal physio Dario Fort.
