  • The pair were signed in October but have both struggled to make an impact
  • They depart having made just four appearances for the club between them

Marouane Chamakh and Kieran Richardson have left Cardiff City ahead of their clash with Championship leaders Brighton on Friday night.

Manager Neil Warnock signed both on short term deals in October but they have struggled to make an impression and have left the club this week.

Former Arsenal forward Chamakh made only two appearances and ex-Aston Villa defender Richardson featured only six times for the club.

'They have left this week,' Warnock said ahead of his side's trip to Championship leaders Brighton on Friday.

'They have been good professionals, but we need to manipulate this squad and those two are easy as their contracts are up.

'They will both find clubs.'

They leave at a time where Cardiff are struggling at the wrong end of the table, currently sitting 19th, just four points clear of the relegation zone.

Cardiff have won just four of their 12 games since Warnock took charge, as the veteran replaced Paul Trollope following his sacking.
