The 'YNWA' tattoo dates back to August 2012 when the Dane was linked with a move away from Anfield but decided to show his desire to stay in ink form.
He said at the time: 'I'd thought about it for a long time. As I said, I feel a part of this club - and I feel a part of this city.
'I have been here so long now, so it was an easy decision. I am proud to be here and I think my knuckles show that.'
The Dane shared the video of the work being done by celebrity inker Ami James via Twitter
The 31-year-old retired after a final season at Brondby and is also a professional tattoo artist
Now four years on from his original display of Liverpool love Agger has shown his continued commitment to his former employers.
'It's not only the club, it's also the city,' Agger explains in the video.'It's everything about it. I still miss Liverpool – as a football club but also as a city.'
Agger made 232 appearances for the club during more than eight years at Anfield, scoring 14 goals as he endeared himself to the Reds faithful. He retired in June after spending the final two years of his career at Brondby.
