Arsenal fans protest and call for Stan Kroenke to 'get out of our club' during 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park

Arsenal fans have vented their fury against the club's majority shareholder Stan Kroenke with loud chants at Goodison Park on Saturday calling on him to leave the club.

Sections of the Gunners support have turned their anger of manager Arsene Wenger this season but during the team's 2-0 win at Everton, it was Kroenke who was firmly in the firing line with hundreds singing: 'Get out of our club, f*** off Stan Kroenke, get out of our club.'

The American, who also owns the NFL Rams franchise, is being blamed for a lack of ambition at The Emirates, charging the highest season-ticket prices to supporters without investing in players or talking about Wenger's future.

Fans were particularly upset that 'Silent' Stan chose to downplay the importance of winning trophies when he made a very rare public appearance at a sports analytics conference in Boston a week ago and said: 'If you want to win championships, then you would never get involved. I think the best owners are the guys that sort of watch both sides a bit.'

Kroenke has also been criticised in America for moving his NFL franchise from St Louis to Los Angeles which has a bigger market.

Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since the Invincibles team of 2004 and are unlikely to win a trophy this season having exited the FA Cup and Champions League in the past week.

They are currently third in the Premier League table behind Leicester City and Spurs but were impressive at Everton with goals from Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi on his first Premier League start.

'Mentally, we have responded under pressure because the character of my players were questioned,' said Wenger.

But the Frenchman didn't totally escape censure from the fans with one holding up a banner that read: 'This is not Arsene FC'.

Wenger told BT Sport after the game: 'It was a very significant win for us and a mental test.

'I like this group, I like the mental attitude, it has been questioned and it hurts me. When you work every day with them you see how much effort they put in.'
