And former France international Petit has told Pogba he must command more freedom on the pitch.

He told Goal: 'Pogba needs to be a boss, a leader. He is already, but only in a soft manner.

'I think that he needs his team-mates to play well. He needs a team that is tactically balanced because when you are Paul Pogba, you have your way.

'He is one of those players who needs freedom on the pitch. He needs to smell the game and use his flair.

'He needs to be able to move constantly without restrictions.'
