Yohan Cabaye set to be offloaded by PSG as Crystal Palace lead the chase for former Newcastle midfielder

Crystal Palace are stepping up their pursuit of Yohan Cabaye after Paris Saint-Germain made it clear they are ready to sell the midfielder.
PSG paid £19million for Cabaye when he moved from Newcastle in January 2014 – and he has three more years left on his contract - but has failed to make an impact and is worried about his place in the France squad, with Euro 2016 fast approaching.
Palace are in advanced talks with the French champions, and manager Alan Pardew promises to be a key figure if they are to beat competition which is expected to materialise from Tottenham and Southampton.

The South London club know their best chance may be to strike quickly because the idea of a reunion with Pardew appeals to Cabaye.
But it will require a transfer fee in excess of £10million, which would smash the club’s record of £7m paid to Wigan for James McArthur, and he would become the top earner at Selhurst Park.
Pardew is also interested in Chelsea’s Loic Remy, another France international who performed well for him at Newcastle and is concerned about Euro 2016.
Meanwhile, McArthur, a transfer target for West Ham this summer, is close to signing a new four-year deal at Palace.
