Here's what Sportsmail's Martin Keown thinks about Arsenal target Christian Benteke ahead of the FA Cup final.

'Benteke is a better all-round footballer than people give him credit for. He’s one of the best headers of the ball in the Premier League but he is excellent on the deck too. He’s coming back from a very bad injury but he doesn’t seem to have lost any of his spring or pace.'

Steve Nicol: Christian Benteke would be good fit at Liverpool

Liverpool have been urged to make a summer move for Christian Benteke by club legend Steve Nicol.

Brendan Rodgers is said to be keen on bringing the Belgium international to Anfield and Nicol believes he would be a good fit at the Reds.

Nicol told talkSPORT: 'I am very positive about Benteke.

'I wouldn’t like to play against him. The guy is a beast. He scores goals and I actually don’t think he gets the credit he deserves for the talent he has with his feet.

'I would be more than happy for Christian Benteke to be at Liverpool next season.'

David de Gea urged to stay at Manchester United

Manchester United goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek believes David de Gea can become as good as Peter Schmeichel or Edwin van der Sar if he stays at Old Trafford.

De Gea has been linked with a move to Real Madrid but Hoek believes he should stay in the Premier League in order to become a Manchester United legend.

'He is now at one of the biggest club in the world.

'The moment you are playing at a high level there, you're great and if you continue to do that, then automatically you become one of the better ones in the world.

'He showed at a very young age - he became 24 this season - that he is able to do the job in all elements of the game, in construction, but also in defence.

'So nothing stands on his way to become one of the best like Schmeichel, like Van der Sar at United.'

Will he stay or will he go?

Benitez said during a press conference on Thursday: 'My contract with Napoli was a two-year deal. A contract that will end on Sunday after the game against Lazio.

'I want to thank the club, its president and the fans for what you have done for me.

'I want to say goodbye to this club and I want to end my cycle here with a victory and a place in the qualifying round of the Champions League.'

Arsene Wenger reveals he's a fan of Christian Benteke

Liverpool and Manchester United may have to beat off competition from Arsenal when it comes to trying to sign Christian Benteke.

Arsene Wenger has said he is a big fan of the Aston Villa striker ahead of this week's FA Cup final.

'He's a player who has a massive potential.

'I think some of the bad fortune of Aston Villa this season was linked with the fact that Benteke was not there.'

Another one of Manchester United's defensive targets - Nathaniel Clyne - appears to be keen on staying at Southampton despite being chased by Louis van Gaal.

The Dutchman wants to purchase a new right back in the summer after being forced to play Antonio Valencia at the back for most of the season.

Clyne was said to be among the list of candidates to join the Red Devils, however Van Gaal may have to turn his attention elsewhere after the Saints defender said he does not have to move to a big team in order to represent England.

The England international said: 'As long as you're playing well for your club and you're doing ever so well in the Premier League then, yeah, you'll get a chance, regardless of whether you're in a top team or not.

'But Southampton's pushing up, so why can't we be a top team?'

Staying with Arsenal and Chris Coleman has said Aaron Ramsey is good enough to play for La Liga giants Barcelona.

Ramsey has recently been linked with a move to Barcelona and Coleman insists his fellow countryman would not be out of place at the Catalan giants.

Coleman said of Ramsey: 'He's already playing for Arsenal, who play a similar style. He's playing at the top of the Premier League and Champions League every season, so ability-wise when you see the best of Aaron Ramsey... at his best is he good enough for Barcelona? Yes he is, at his best.'

Wolfsburg star Kevin de Bruyne has revealed he wouldn't consider making a return to Chelsea while Jose Mourinho is still in charge.

The Belgian international has enjoyed an impressive 18 months in the Bundesliga since arriving from Stamford Bridge for £18million in January 2014, but struggled to make an impact during his time in England.

Wolfsburg have claimed the 23-year-old is 'unsellable', but he is yet to rule out a move although it would seem a return to Chelsea is off the cards.

De Bruyne told Sport Bild: 'I think, to be honest, that I would not return to Chelsea as long as he [Mourinho] is in charge.  I know that I like the Bundesliga, and it always did me good.'

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas insists he would welcome the chance to compete with Manchester United's David de Gea for a first team spot at the Santiago Bernabeu.

De Gea has been strongly linked with a move to the La Liga giants as the Spaniard is said to be keen on sealing a move back to his hometown of Madrid.

Casillas' position as Real Madrid's No 1 would come under extreme threat if De Gea was to seal a move to the club, however the veteran keeper has said: ‘If De Gea does come here, he’ll be welcomed.

'Competition is healthy and there is not a clause in my contract which states that I have to be No.1. We’ll have to compete for a place like we do with Spain.'
