Ozil's form since the start of the New Year has recieved criticism from many pundits, but teammate Per Mertesacker believes the Premier League will see the best of him next season.

Speaking to Arsenal's official website Mertesacker said: 'It's very important to understand how the differences are between the leagues.
'I think he came from La Liga and it's quite different to play there.
'He has adapted well but there is more to come from him, and I think the second season will be much better from him, because he's a fantastic player.
'He has shown some great skills but he needs to be more consistent, and that's what makes the difference at the end.'
On the ball: Ozil made his comeback for Arsenal in their 3-0 win at Hull on Sunday after a five-week injury lay-off

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was pleased Ozil's performance in his first game back following a five-week lay-off.

'Football is down to quality of the players and you could see that today.'
