United and Chelsea set for bidding war starting at £15m for Dutch star Van Ginkel
Manchester United have attempted to steal a march on Chelsea in the race for Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Marco van Ginkel.
The 20-year-old had been a star for Holland in the Under 21 Championship in Israel, before his Dutch team were beaten 1-0 in the semi-finals by Italy.

United’s chief scout Jim Lawlor flew to the championship to watch the 20-year-old and the Red Devil’s interest is likely to start a bidding war from £15million.
Chelsea have also been keen on Van Ginkel and along with United boss David Moyes and Norwich had monitored the midfielder throughout last season.
The Blues are thought to still lead the race for the Dutchman’s signature, with the west London side sharing a close relationship with Arnhem.

The Dutch side had Tomas Kalas and Patrick Van Aanholt on loan from the Blues this season, and Van Ginkel admits he does not know what next season holds for him.
Van Ginkel told Sky Sports: 'My future? Now I have a vacation and I'll concentrate on that. After my holiday, we will see. Maybe!
'Manchester United, I didn't know... I have two more years at Vitesse. It's a club who's growing, so I'm also happy there.'
