Tottenham stunned Manchester United as Christian Eriksen scored the third fastest goal in Premier League history.

Eriksen gave Tottenham the lead after just eleven seconds in emphatic style as he capitalised on a blocked effort from Heung-Min Son to tuck the ball into David De Gea’s goal.

The misery continued for United with Tottenham adding a second on the 28th minute.

Eriksen released right-back Kieran Trippier down the right-flank and Trippier’s intended ball looked for Harry Kane inside the six yard box but Phil Jones was on hand to turn the ball into his own net in quite calamitous fashion.

Spurs piled on the pressure in the second-half and with Jose Mourinho desperate to change the events of the game he introduced Marouane Fellaini to the action on the 63rd minute as the Belgian replaced Paul Pogba.

Fellaini however lasted just seven minutes and was pulled from the action on he 70th minute with some reporting the Belgian to have thrown a tantrum upon his premature exit from the action.

Man of the match

Christian Eriksen tonight cemented his place in Premier League history as the third fastest ever goalscorer. Further, the midfielder produced a memorable performance against United tonight.

Eriksen was key to everything that Tottenham produced and even started the move that lead to the second Spurs goal.

Flop of the match

Phil Jones’ own goal is enough to merit his place here as our flop of the match alone. However, the misery did not stop here for the England defender as he lived out his very own nightmare throughout the 90 minutes.

Jones certainly could have dealt with Tottenham’s opener and looked out of his depth trying to cope with the movement of Alli, Son, Kane and Eriksen throughout.
