Arsenal fell to defeat to Swansea City in nightmare fashion as Petr Cech’s awful error led to a 3-1 defeat for the Gunners at the Liberty Stadium.
Nacho Monreal gave Arsene Wenger’s side the lead in the first half, but that was as good as it got for the visitors as their lead lasted less than a minute.
Sam Clucas levelled it up before Ayew’s second-half goal, and the forward then set up Clucas for his second late on.
Here are our Arsenal player ratings, stats and reaction from a night to forget for the north Londoners…
Man of the match
For a tireless performance and even a goal brought about from that extra work rate in attack, we’re giving it to Swansea front-man Jordan Ayew.
The Ghana international was a constant thorn in Arsenal’s side as Swansea dominated almost from start to finish, in truth.
Finally, Ayew’s terrific running also saw him set up the third for Sam Clucas and kill the game against the Gunners in the final few minutes.
Flop of the match
It might be too easy to blame it on Cech when the whole Arsenal team were so poor, but his error gave Swansea the momentum at the crucial moment.
While the Gunners were not at their best with the score tied at 1-1, you’d still fancy them to carve out some chances in the closing stages, but Cech put them under huge pressure.
The Czech Republic international looks well past his best now and his wait for his 200th Premier League clean sheet goes on despite him reaching 199 seven games ago.
Petr Cech now stuck on 199 Premier League clean sheets for the 7th consecutive game…
