Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is eager to keep England international Danny Welbeck at the north London side amid interest from a few clubs.

This is according to TalkSport, who state that both Crystal Palace and Turkish side Besiktas are interested in signing the player, and that the Frenchman wants to keep the player at the Emirates.

Speaking about the former Man United striker, Wenger said “I want Danny Welbeck to stay here”, something that should be music to the ears for a fair few Gunners supporters.

It seems Arsene Wenger is eager to keep Danny Welbeck in north London

Since moving to the Emirates from fellow Premier League giant Manchester United in the summer of 2014, Welbeck has been a reliable servant for Arsene Wenger’s side.

In 91 appearances for the club, the England forward has been able to amass a total of 22 goals and 13 assists, a decent record considering the player isn’t always deployed as an out-and-out striker.

In his Premier League career so far, Welbeck has been able to clock up a total of 39 goals and 24 assists in 186 appearances, a fairly decent return.

The forward’s ability to not only be used a striker, but also on either flank has seen him come in handy on multiple occasions for both Man United and the Gunners.

So far this campaign, Welbeck has been able to make 16 appearances in the Premier League, however a fair few of these have been as a substitute, with Wenger opting to go with Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette over the England international on a number of occasions.
