‘Just get on with it’ – Antonio Conte slammed by MOTD pundit after Chelsea defeat

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wasn’t a happy man on Saturday as he saw his side fall to a 1-0 defeat at West Ham United to seemingly end their title hopes.

The reigning Premier League champions could fall 14 points behind Manchester City by the end of Sunday, and that in turn is a huge disappointment for them seeing their title bid all-but end in December.

As reported by the Metro, the Italian tactician again hit out at the lack of depth in his squad with a subtle sideswipe that such setbacks as seen against the Hammers will be experienced if he’s forced to field the same players every three days.

It’s difficult to disagree with him in terms of not having enough depth, as while they had the luxury of resting all week and preparing for Premier League games last season, the return of Champions League football this year really has tested their ability to complete on multiple fronts.

The report adds how they missed out on a string of summer transfer window targets, and so for Conte, he’ll feel as though he’s been left short of what was needed.

Match of the Day pundit Phil Neville wasn’t overly impressed with the Chelsea boss after his latest comments though, as seen in the video below, as he ultimately just urged Conte to ‘get on with it’ rather than continually moaning about the tiredness.

It’s a difficult position to be in, and it won’t get any easier for the Blues with the busy festive period upon us.
