Chelsea fans won’t be happy, Man Utd star takes indirect swipe at Blues

Despite four successful seasons with Chelsea, Nemanja Matic is evidently a happy man now that he’s a Man Utd player, based on these comments.

The Serbian international initially joined Chelsea in 2009, but after failing to make his breakthrough at Stamford Bridge, he went on to move to Benfica before re-joining the Blues in 2013.

Matic played a key role in Chelsea winning two Premier League titles in the last three years, but he opted to leave this past summer in favour of reuniting with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Despite making plenty of memories and establishing himself as a fan favourite, the 29-year-old probably won’t endear himself to Blues fans too much with comments like these.

“To play for Manchester United has always been a dream of mine,” he said, as per ESPN FC. “I’m living my dream now, and of course I have a dream about winning the league with United.

“I know everything, or at least almost everything, about Manchester United.”

It’s not really what you want to hear as a Chelsea fan from a player who was so key to previous success, especially after giving him an opportunity in the Premier League and helping develop him into a top player.

In turn, it’s unlikely that Matic will receive a warm reaction to the comments above, although his primary focus will now be on ensuring that he can replicate the success that he enjoyed in west London with Man Utd this season and beyond, as he plays a prominent role in Mourinho’s bid for further silverware.
