Chelsea transfer news: Real Madrid star could seek exit, CFC top choice

10 points behind Barcelona, second in their Champions League group, problems mounting for Real Madrid and now Chelsea could reportedly add to their woes.

Things aren’t going to plan for Zinedine Zidane and his players so far this season, and the French tactician will have to find the solutions sooner rather than later.

There seems to be one staring him in the face, especially at a time when Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are struggling, while Gareth Bale continues to be plagued by injuries.

However, it seems Marco Asensio isn’t doing something right, as he’s not been given a more prominent role on a consistent basis to really cement his place in the line-up.

The 21-year-old has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 19 appearances in all competitions so far this season, but he’s yet to start a single Champions League game, while he’s started two of the last four La Liga games on the bench.

For a player who possesses such quality, that seems to be a recipe for disaster, and that could turn out to be the case in the form of an exit according to Don Balon, as re-reported by The Express, as it’s suggested that he has taken his gripe upstairs to president Florentino Perez.

Further, it’s claimed that Chelsea could be his next destination as they’re specifically mentioned as a top option if he were to leave the Bernabeu, and so Antonio Conte may well be monitoring the situation in order to swoop for one of Real’s top young players to bolster his squad if he becomes available.

It remains to be seen whether or not that’s the way it plays out, or if Zidane reshuffles things and gives Asensio more playing time to step up while his teammates around him continue to struggle.
