BBC Premier League team of week: Man Utd quartet dominate, Liverpool debutant impresses

Man Utd racked up another impressive win at the weekend, and that’s reflected in the BBC Premier League team of the week this time round.

Jose Mourinho’s men secured a comfortable win at Swansea City, making it consecutive 4-0 victories to start the season as they look to be firing early on.

In turn, it’s no surprise that Garth Crooks has gone with a strong United contingent in his team of the week, with no less than four players included. Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Henrik Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba all get the nod.

However, it wouldn’t be a BBC team of the week with Crooks without some frustrated supporters venting their fury at him, with many questioning on Twitter if the United game was the only one he watched this week, while others enquired if Manchester City and Everton are still part of the Premier League as the Monday Night Football game has clearly been snubbed this week.

Nevertheless, it’s hard to disagree with many of his picks this time round, with Jack Butland between the posts after he impressed against Arsenal, while Harry Maguire and Liverpool debutant Andy Robertson complete the backline.

The Reds ace was particularly impressive in the win over Crystal Palace at Anfield on Saturday, with Liverpool fans undoubtedly hoping that he can be a long-term solution at left back.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield Town hero Aaron Mooy and Chelsea’s two-goal hero Marcos Alonso complete the midfield, with Javier Hernandez and Jese up top after the latter had a dream Stoke City debut after scoring the winner against Arsenal.

Agree with Crooks’ selections or has he made any glaring omissions? He’s never going to keep everyone happy to be fair…
