Everton look set to increase their summer spending even further, with the club having reportedly made an offer of £40M plus £5M in add-ons for Swansea City playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson, according to the Express.

The Toffees have reportedly made the offer for the midfielder, who has made clear his intentions to leave the Liberty Statdum in favour of a move to Goodison Park, as Ronald Koeman looks to further strengthen his side ahead of this season, as per the Express.

Sigurdsson, as reported by the Express, had stayed in Wales whilst the rest of the Swansea side travelled to the US for their pre-season tour, with Swans boss Paul Clement being made to place a £50M asking price on the player’s head.

Sigurdsson played in every league games for the Swans last season, as the Icelandic playmaker scored nine and assisted 13 as the Swans narrowly avoided relegation.

Should Everton get a deal for Sigurdsson over the line and increase their summer spending even further, it’ll certainly show that the Toffees mean business as they look to improve on the 7th place finished they secured last season.
