Arsene Wenger will fight local rivals Tottenham in pursuit of the 27 year old, who has become something of a bit-part player at Juventus.

The Italian international made just 11 appearances last term and is set for a fresh challenge having represented his hometown side since the age of nine.

Giovinco can play in an attacking midfield role as well as in a supporting striker role and could be tempted by a move to the Premier League though it’s not instantly obvious where he would fit into an Arsenal line-up that now has Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck among it’s attacking complement.

The 5ft 4in star’s best displays came during a two year loan spell at Parma and since his return to Juventus in June 2012 his career has stagnated somewhat.
