It looks like Arsenal won’t sign any new players before the transfer window closes.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been mixing with stars at a charity game in Rome instead of trying to sign players for his side on transfer deadline day.
Wenger is set to referee the match for peace charity game which will involve the likes of David Trezequet and Andrea Pirlo.
While Wenger’s presence at the game is noble, it appears to suggest that the Gunners won’t be very active on transfer deadline day.
Many Arsenal fans would like the club to sign a central defender, a central midfielder and a striker before the transfer window closes but that appears to be unlikely with Wenger at the charity game.
Arsenal are short in the strikers department with Olivier Giroud set to be out until the new year with an ankle injury. The Gunners were reportedly interested in signing AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao on loan but they ended their interest when the Columbian revealed his wage demands.
Falcao now looks set to move to Manchester United on a year long loan deal, much to the disgust of some Gunners fans who would have liked to have seen the world class striker at the Emirates.
United sign Falcao as Wenger goes off to ref a charity game. And people wonder why I sound so deranged about Arsenal. #DeadlineDay .

I can’t honestly believe Arsene Wenger would allow this window to close without an additional defender/midfielder/striker. Madness #GoalTZ — Sam Lyon (@sampatricklyon) September 1, 2014
As for Arsenal, if Wenger doesn’t bring in a decent striker even 4th place might elude them this season.
