Loaned out trio Krisztian Adorjan, Pepe Reina, Oussama Assaidi are all unlikely to return to the Merseyside club though one imagines the money made from the sale of three wouldn’t amount to a great deal.

Flop summer capture Iago Aspas will also be made available after failing to impress since moving from Celta Vigo, failing to score in 13 Premier League appearances.

Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates has struggled with injuries and is apparently also set for an exit with Spanish full-back Jose Enrique also set to leave Liverpool.

The left-back was Rodgers’ first choice left-sided defensive option at the beginning of the season but has been out for most of the season with a knee injury and John Flanagan has been excellent since being used in the role in recent months.

Perhaps the most surprising name on this list of exit bound first team stars comes in the form of Danish international Daniel Agger.

Whilst the 29 year old has been far from his very best this season on his day the tough tackler is still a very competent performer who has served the club well for nine seasons.
