Ulloa has made only four Premier League appearances this season

Brighton have re-signed Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa on loan until the end of the season.

The Argentine, 31, returns to the Amex three and a half years after leaving for the Foxes in a record £8m deal.

Ulloa scored 20 goals for Leicester, including six during their Premier League-winning campaign in 2015-16.

"He's achieved a great deal since he left and his experience at this level will be hugely beneficial to us," said Brighton boss Chris Hughton.

Ulloa, who joined the Seagulls from Almeria in 2013, scored 26 goals in 58 appearances and was the first player to score a hat-trick at the Amex.

Hughton added: "I wasn't here during his first spell at the club, but I know he was very well thought of by all concerned, including the club's supporters."

    behind vardy , okazaki, slimani, iheanacho and now the new lad diabate. but leo needs games at his age . he got some important goals for us , especially the late winner against norwich that caused an earth quake.
    i would like to see brighton stay up , good luck ulloa.

    All the best Leo... scored some vital goals, but overall play and commitment was great too.

    Has experience which Brighton could do with and hopefully will keep them up.

    Of course he's no Sanches but he has got something that Sanchez hasn't... a Premier League Champions medal!

    Ulloa has shown that he's a man of character and great attitude, fighting for the team even if it has to be from off the bench. Team players are hard to find and I think his willingness to give what he can to his side will suit a club like Brighton really well. Decent business for all 3 parties.

    Ulloa is a good professional and gave us excellent value for money first time around. He was signed for less that £2 million, scored goals for us and left us for £8 million. Now he has the challenge of proving Leicester Management and Albion doubters wrong. I know he has the right attitude and believe he has the ability. Come on Leo, you can be our hero again!

    I suspect all parties are happy with this bit of business. Leicester showed at the weekend they have some excellent attacking options and simply put, Ulloa wouldn't have got any games.

    Brighton on the other hand need some options and he has experience and an affinity for the club.

    A great signing for a club struggling to score, he might not be an A-list striker, but he scores and with regular first team action he could be exactly what Brighton need to survive.

    And great to see no crazy money being exchanged.

    Cannot get my head around Premier teams having to take players on loan when they have the money to buy? That said Ulloa was really down the pecking order at City so the move is good for him. Very affable character, good in the air, but with the pace of a donkey.
    May be good at Brighton if they start trying to win games rather than park the bus & play for drab draws.

    @23 Idiotbox - The one thing that Brighton have consistently done this season is make chances but not take them. In my book, Hughton is a tactically aware coach who will keep Brighton up - Ulloa & Locadia may just make the difference. Everyone at the club is behind him and there will be no dissenting voices whatever happens come the end of May. We all appreciate where we are and how we got there!

    Getting a lot of stick here but scored a few important goals which proved a big contribution in Leicester's league winning season.
